The UMBC OCAM staff carries out the day-to-day work of managing  CUERE’s grants and contracts. Faculty and students are affiliated with CUERE mainly through UMBC’s academic departments.  CUERE holds cooperative agreements with several entities on campus for sharing of personnel and resources. Notably, CUERE hosts the field headquarters of the Baltimore Ecosystem Study Long-Term Ecological Research site, which is managed by the Cary Institute of Ecosystem Studies in New York. CUERE was instrumental in brining the USGS MD-DE-DC Water Science Center to campus in 2007.  Both USGS and the USDA Forest Service Baltimore Field Station are located on the edge of campus at BW Tech North, UMBC’s Research and Technology Park.
